Interdisciplinary Reading and Viewing Group on Space and Place
|Date:||27 October 2014, 2:00pm to|
27 October 2014, 3:00pm
The intention of the group is to enable academic debate across different disciplines, and to consider questions relating to the way in which spaces and places (both real and imagined) are implicated in everyday life and culture.
We meet every month during term time to discuss academic work and visual media/films. Readings will be available prior to our meetings from Heidi Seetzen.
Every semester we will concentrate on a particular theme, writer or film-maker.
This semester the focus will be on The Right to The City.
The reading for the first session is David Harvey's Reclaiming The City for Anti-Capitalist Struggle¹ (in Harvey, D. - Rebel Cities, 2012, London: Verso.).
We meet for the first time on Monday the 27th of October from 2.00-3.00 pm (room TBC).
If you would like to join the discussion, please contact Heidi Seetzen and we will get a copy of the reading to you.
