Entry requirements
We offer 15-week, 10-week and 5-week Pre-Sessional English courses. As a general guide, five weeks spent on a course will lead to a 0.5 improvement to your IELTS score. The course you join depends on your English language level and the entry requirements of your chosen academic programme. Your offer letter should tell you which Pre-Sessional course to apply for. If it does not, the Pre-Sessional team will advise you on which course to apply for.
Our courses have the following minimum English Language entry requirements. Students with other main course English language requirements should contact us for advice.

Please note: Students who have already met the English language entry requirements for their main course but wish to attend a Pre-Sessional course should apply for the 5-week course.
Successful completion
In order to successfully complete the Pre-Sessional course, students must both pass the course assessments and fully attend the course. A minimum of 80% attendance from day one of each course, is required both for visa purposes and to enable you to progress on to your chosen course at Kingston.
