The BSc in Psychology has been accredited by the British Psychological Society since 2001. The teaching is research-led, wide-ranging and dynamic and consists of lectures, seminars, workshops, small group tutorials, as well as other assorted guided activities. Students can gain hands-on research experience via our volunteer researcher scheme and benefit from close links to specialists clinics and hospitals, schools, care homes, and nurseries in the London area. Our courses are designed to enable our students to develop their skills for a wide range of careers.
The department also offers an exciting range of taught postgraduate courses that will promote career opportunities in professional practice or academia. A new BSc and MSc in Forensic Psychology will commence in 2016.
Our academic staff leads active research groups with significant research impact. Most of its output is rated as world leading or internationally excellent (find here sample articles and books) and our laboratories and research facilities have been steadily upgraded and expanded. More applied and pragmatic questions are explored not only in our laboratories but also in real-world settings.
