José R. Sánchez-Fung is Senior Lecturer in Economics at Kingston University in London, UK, and Associate Fellow of the Institute for the Study of the Americas, School of Advanced Study, University of London, UK. He has held appointments as Visiting Scholar at Columbia University in New York and Senior Associate Member of St Antony’s College, University of Oxford, UK. Dr Sánchez-Fung has also been Director of the Economic Research Department and Member of the monetary policy making Open Market Committee at the Central Bank of the Dominican Republic, and Visiting Researcher at the Bank of Finland in Helsinki.

His research interests are in macro and monetary economics, monetary and fiscal policies, and development economics and policy, and work on the topics has been published in various refereed academic journals. He holds PhD and MA degrees in Economics from the University of Kent in the UK, and a Licenciatura en Economía from the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
