Dr Joanna Hall is a Principal Lecturer in Dance Studies. She completed her PhD in Dance Studies at the University of Surrey in 2009, supported by an Arts and Humanities Research Council Award. Her research interests include the popular dance practices of musical and club cultures, and the relationship between dance and cultural identities. She is a founding and leading member of the PoP (Performances of the Popular) Moves research committee and presents at conferences internationally.
