Staff activities
- Research papers and other lectures have been delivered at conferences and seminars in the UK and abroad (Belgium, Italy, Germany, Japan, Croatia, South Africa, Spain, US).
- Workshops and 'masterclasses' have also been delivered in the UK and abroad (Japan, South Africa, US).
- Staff have given other kinds of public talks (e.g. launch of the Archives Hub, University of Manchester, Cheltenham Literary Festival, National Theatre Platform).
- Staff have been invited to be external examiners at research degree and research course level at four institutions (Royal Holloway College, London; Rose Bruford College, London; Central School of Speech and Drama, London; and University of Exeter).
- Staff have reviewed for academic journals (Theatre Research International, New Theatre Quarterly, Studies in Theatre and Performance, Theatre Notebook and Reformation), written or contributed to programme notes (e.g. West End, Chichester Festival Theatre), served on boards of or held artistic positions with theatre companies (e.g. Hackney Empire, Lightwork), served on the board of journals (Total Theatre), served on advisory bodies (e.g. Royal Shakespeare Company Higher Education Advisory Board, Advisory Board of the Centre for Performance Translation and Dramaturgy at the University of Hull, the East London Theatre Archive Digitalisation Project at the University of East London), acted as consultants (e.g. for BBC TV, National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts, ACT Productions, Intellect Books), and worked professionally with mainstream and community theatre companies.
