Research in Education

The School of Education aims to enhance the quality of teaching and learning across all sectors from Early Years to Higher Education and in undertaking individual and collaborative research projects and scholarship to contribute to the generating of new professional knowledge in Education-related fields.

We provide a wide range of programmes in initial teacher education and postgraduate professional development, which are informed by our research specialisms and expertise, as are our partnerships with a wide range of institutions, regionally, nationally and internationally. The School of Education is a provider of teacher education subject to the requirements of the Training and Development Agency (TDA). Excellent outcomes have been achieved in Ofsted inspections.

In research our focus in the School of Education is on the professional development of teachers, generating excellence in teacher education and enhancing inter-professional collaboration and understanding.
