Research in Film and Television
Film and Television at Kingston has a strong and distinctive research identity. Teaching from BA undergraduate to PhD supervision is informed by staff research - in terms of conference papers, monographs and articles, but also through professional practice such as sound installations, documentary films and photography.
As an MA or PhD student in Film, Television or Film Making at Kingston, you will be taught and supervised by a committed team whose work is internationally recognised.
Your tutors at Kingston have a world-class profile in research and practice, but they are always approachable, supportive and dedicated to your academic progress. Your success is our success.
Many of our BA students, enjoying the creative, hardworking and friendly environment here, continue to one of our MA programmes; in turn, many Kingston MA students pursue a PhD with us, and are given the opportunity to tutor a new generation of undergraduates. We believe in lifelong learning, not just in getting students to their next qualification. We have a commitment to our students, and we welcome them to an academic community of mutual respect and collaboration. We will help you achieve your aims, supporting you closely and pushing your limits as you become an expert scholar, a brilliant filmmaker or both. But we also know that you'll teach us, and your fellow students, during the journey towards your MA or PhD.
