Research programmes currently in progress include studies of the following: children's cognitive, social, and emotional development in the context of relationships; the social (and parental) influences that shape a child's academic preferences as they enter adolescence; the development of memory and reading abilities; cognitive development in autism and associated disorders; theory of mind; face and emotion recognition; people's ability to exploit and arrange artefacts in their immediate environment to solve problems more efficiently.
