Bloomsbury Publishing Scholarship
The Bloomsbury Publishing Scholarship is a £10,000 award available to students starting an MA Publishing course at Kingston University in 2015/16.
The award is designed to support students who are the first generation from their family to enter higher education. It covers the fees for the MA Publishing course along with an additional one-off payment towards living and course-related costs.
The scholarship honours the strong relationship between the MA Publishing course and Bloomsbury Publishing and the support and opportunities Bloomsbury provides to Kingston’s MA students. Many Kingston Publishing students undertake placements within Bloomsbury and some also gain paid work experience in the company. This enables aspiring publishers to build their knowledge, skills and confidence as well as boosting their career prospects. Four of Kingston’s MA Publishing alumni have now secured permanent positions in the company.
You are eligible to apply if:
- you are a Home or EU domiciled student and have been studying an undergraduate course since September 2012 and have paid fees at the higher level (more than £3,465 per year); and
- you are completing your undergraduate studies in 2014/15 and immediately starting a postgraduate taught masters course in 2015/16; and
- you are the first generation from your family to enter higher education or you have been part of the Kingston University Compact Scheme.
As part of your application, you will be required to submit a personal statement explaining how this award will make a difference to your postgraduate studies at Kingston University.
